At Remedy, we know specialty veterinary care often comes with a lot of questions. Whether you’re scheduling an initial consultation with one of our veterinary specialists or preparing for more advanced treatment, our goal is to provide clear, transparent information and compassionate support throughout the process.
After evaluating your pet, the Remedy team will review recommended care options, discuss insurance considerations, and provide a detailed treatment estimate. We’ll take the time to answer your questions so you can make informed decisions with confidence.
Below, you’ll find starting fee ranges for select specialty veterinary services we offer at our San Francisco hospital. Because every pet’s medical needs are unique, these figures are intended as starting ranges rather than fixed estimates.

New neurology consultation: $375
Emergency neurology consultation: $575

Telemedicine recheck: $85

This fee applies when a cannabis consultation is recommended for a patient currently receiving care through another in-house service.Professional remote consultation: $105
This service is intended for veterinarians seeking a written, in-depth consultation regarding veterinary cannabis therapies for their patients or for product selection and evaluation. Consultations are provided by veterinary anesthesia specialist Stephen Cital, RVT, VTS (Anesthesia & Analgesia).

Payment & Insurance
Accepted Payment Methods
Remedy accepts Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, Apple Pay, and cash. To keep our focus on patient care, we don’t offer payment plans or accept checks at this time.
Accepted pet Insurance
Remedy Veterinary Specialists is a Trupanion Partner Hospital, which allows us to submit claims directly to Trupanion at the time of your visit. If your pet is enrolled and the claim is approved, you’ll be responsible only for your portion of the invoice, without waiting for reimbursement.
Other Insurance
For all other pet insurance providers, the Remedy team is happy to provide itemized invoices and medical records to support direct claim submission.
Payment & insurance FAQs

Yes, Remedy requires payment at the time of service. A deposit equal to the lower end of your estimated treatment cost is due prior to the procedure, with the remaining balance payable when your pet is discharged.

If you have pet insurance with a provider other than Trupanion, Remedy will supply the necessary documentation to support your insurance claim. Reimbursement is handled directly between you and your insurance provider.

Yes, Remedy always provides cost estimates in advance. Our price list offers a general overview of fees, and after evaluating your pet, we’ll give you a detailed, individualized treatment estimate based on their specific needs.

No, Remedy doesn’t accept personal checks or offer payment plans.
Payment plan options are available through CareCredit, a third-party healthcare credit provider. Applications are completed directly through CareCredit, not Remedy.
