Veterinary Dermatologist – San Francisco

Remedy Veterinary Specialists is looking for a dermatologist to join our small, independently owned specialty hospital in San Francisco.

We built Remedy around a simple idea: excellent medicine and a good place to work shouldn't be mutually exclusive.

We’re a small hospital, which means we know each other, communicate directly, and can make decisions without navigating six layers of corporate approval. We care deeply about the medicine we practice, but we also care about the people practicing it. Our goal is a workplace where talented people have the resources and autonomy to do excellent work and can still have a life outside the hospital.

The Job

We’re looking for a board-certified or residency-trained veterinary dermatologist who wants to build a dermatology service within a collaborative specialty practice.

Our full-time doctors work four 10-hour shifts per week, with protected lunch breaks. Doctors control their schedules, and we’re open to discussing what the right schedule looks like for the right person. For interested candidates, we’re also open to incorporating remote days for work that doesn't require you to be physically in the hospital.

You’ll have dedicated support staff, and not just on paper. We invest heavily in our team, and as a result, we have some truly exceptional technicians working at Remedy. People stay here. You won't find yourself training a new technician every four months because the last one burned out and left.

Our hospital has MRI on site, with CT in the works, and we keep investing in equipment and services that make sense for our doctors and patients. 

Most importantly, you would have a meaningful voice in how your service develops and how the hospital itself operates. Our leadership team also works in the clinic, and we have a standing weekly meeting to discuss hospital operations and how we can all improve together. People who understand what the day-to-day work actually looks like make decisions about patient care, workflow, staffing, and hospital culture.

For the right doctor who is interested in putting down roots with us, there may also be an opportunity for future ownership buy-in.
