The Remedy Story
After more than 20 years in veterinary medicine, Dr. Carrie Jurney set out to create something different. Having practiced in academic institutions and large multispecialty and emergency hospitals around the world, she saw both the strengths and the strain of traditional models: brilliant minds and 24/7 care, alongside burnout, resource competition, and fragmented focus. Teams were stretched thin, expected to know everything, and often left with little room to specialize deeply.
She also grew increasingly disillusioned with corporate medicine, where financial priorities set far from the exam room seemed to come before the wellbeing of pets and the people who care for them.
So Dr. Jurney brought together a team of friends, each a leader in their field, to build a better kind of veterinary specialty hospital to serve San Francisco and the Bay Area. That vision became Remedy Veterinary Specialists.

And when others say there’s nothing more that can be done, we look deeper, think creatively, and keep searching for solutions others may have missed.
